Consisting only of first-flush (ichibancha) shade-grown tea leaves, carefully hand-picked during spring and are prized for higher concentrations of L-theanine and antioxidants. The matcha tea leaves are steamed, de-veined, de-stemmed, dried, and slowly stone-ground to preserve delicate flavor, prevent bitterness, and achieve a fine texture. Our ceremonial matcha is organic, with no synthetic pesticides, GMOs, artificial additives, fillers, sweeteners, or preservatives.
Its profile is smooth, creamy, umami-rich and slightly grassy, a hint of sweetness, a buttery, a bright flavour with satisfying mouthfeel and no bitterness.
We recommend a teaspoon, or between 3 and 5 grams per drink, depending on type, size and preference.
