In 1973, our uncles Nick and Jimmy Argyropoulos opened Mrs Montreal, a Greek bakery on Bernard, where our dad worked as a teenager. Exactly 50 years later, we opened Alphabet just three blocks away, on the corner of Clark. We are proud to honour our Mile End roots by bringing our craft & heritage back to the neighbourhood.
A Home to Ambros Coffee Roasters
Alphabet is a roaster-run cafe and the sister company of Ambros Coffee. The coffee at Alphabet is sourced, imported and locally roasted by Ambros, and our shelves are stocked with fresh beans for home. We have an expertise in the craft, we are proud of the product we serve, and we are always ready to talk coffee.

Alphabet's signature Freddo Cappuccino is our take on the traditional Greek iced coffee, prepared with quality and substance, and served with Alphabet's unique style. Inspired by the Cap, we launched a Freddo Menu, which includes popular creations like our Freddo Matcha and Freddo Zesto. At Alphabet, Greek Freddo is an art.
